It should be of general knowledge the ethnic groups that inhabit our country and more specifically our areas. There are exist a lot to mention them all, however here are some links to accredited web pages where you can find more about these cultures that are also brothers and sisters citizens.

In the latest demographic and ethnographic general census on 2005, made by the DANE, statistics showed that 5.709.238 of the 41.468.384 citizens claimed to belong to an ethnic group: about 4 million afro Americans, some 4 thousand of the ROM, and a million indigenous people. There were 87 indigenous communities from which, in 2010, at least 35 of them were in danger of extinction and forced displacement; and even though it is not a real fact yet, more than those 35 may have collapsed by now. Of course, there is a constant demographic growth, but these minorities who also count with human rights have had a hard time in staying as they are.

Aside from the internal conflict, these communities have to suffer the wreckage by these multinationals. Fracking,  biopiracy, the woodland destruction of vast territories (home of many of these communities) for the construction of hydropower, mining, non-sustainable tourism and more, brought here by our big companies but mainly by the U.S. ‘s are a couple of things that have made these communities bear with constant violation of their rights.

We have to know about these communities in order to take action. It is our duty, the people living unaffected on the cities, to create consciousness and help them. They are humans too, they are cultural patrimony as well, but most importantly, they are 100% Colombian race we must aid and perpetuate.
